EXXONMOBIL Qatar is once again welcoming thousands of Qatar ExxonMobil Open attendees to its stand in the Public Village. As the title sponsor of the tournament, ExxonMobil Qatar organises a number of exciting, hands-on activities for people of all ages to enjoy.
"It gives us great pride to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open with our partner the Qatar Tennis Federation. Since the beginning, we've focused on providing the best experience possible for our visitors, and that includes the ExxonMobil Qatar stand in the Public Village," said the President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar Alistair Routledge.
"As in previous years, we've organised a multitude of activities at the stand in an effort to attract every visitor, young and old. Actively engaging the community is a pillar of our national outreach programmes in Qatar and we hope that you will join us for some fun, for a thrilling racing car simulator experience, and for once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet tennis stars."
The racing car simulator has been a long-time favourite of those visiting the ExxonMobil Qatar stand. The model provides visitors with an interactive and realistic racing experience based on a full-size specification racing car. It has an authentic, padded cockpit headrest, four-point racing harness, gear lever paddles and a quick release carbon fibre steering wheel, that allow drivers to experience the unique movement of the car under realistic acceleration, braking and cornering conditions. A built-in 5.1 surround sound system also provides users with a full-sensory experience.
ExxonMobil Qatar is also bringing back the popular 'ExxonMobil Minute' competition. After each match, ExxonMobil Qatar gives several lucky spectators the chance to catch tennis balls served randomly into the crowds by tennis stars. Those who are successful can visit the ExxonMobil Qatar stand for an exciting prize and they may even spot one of the tennis stars who stop by. Tennis players visit the stand every day of the tournament to spend time with the fans and sign tennis balls as souvenirs.
The Public Village is a consistent attraction at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, offering live music, entertainment and a traditional Qatari Souq that includes local cuisine and handicrafts.
"Over the years, the Qatar Exxon Mobil Open has become the most sought after tennis tournament in the region. We are very happy to welcome the world once again to Doha for the silver anniversary edition of this prestigious tournament. Once again, lovers of tennis will have the opportunity to watch their stars, including the recently crowned world No.1 Andy Murray, play in Doha. This year's event promises to be greater than the previous and the fans will definitely have great time," Tournament Director Karim Alami said.
ExxonMobil Qatar has been the title sponsor of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open for 23 years, and a partner of the Qatar Tennis Federation for 25 years. The Qatar ExxonMobil Open will run from January 2 7, 2017. Confirmed tournament participants include defending Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2016 champion Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Tomas Berdych.
