Tribune News NetworkDohaApproximately, 6,500 workers were transferred from Industrial Area between April 14 and 17 in preparation for partial lifting of its streets from lockdown, Supreme Committee for Crisis Management Spokesperson Lolwah Rashid Al Khater said in a press conference on Monday.These workers were transferred to a precautionary quarantine facility to be examined proactively, the official addedKhater said the streets under lockdown in Industrial Area will be reopened in a staggered fashion, with Streets 1, 2 and Wakalat Street going to be opened on Wednesday.Work is also going on to lift restrictions on other streets in the coming days as well, she added. Streets 1 to 32 of Industrial Area is under lockdown since last month after a surge in confirmed cases of coronavirus in the area. While movements in and out are heavily restricted, supply runs for food, medicines and other essential items are allowed.
