DOHA: The Marine Protection Department at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has carried out an extensive inspection campaign at Al Wakra Port to ensure that boats do not violate the laws and legislation that protect the country’s wildlife.

It also ensured the use of safe fishing methods and equipment that preserve biodiversity and coral reefs.

The expanded campaign came with the participation ofthe Coast Guard at the Ministry of Interior, the Fisheries Resources Department at the Ministry of Municipality, the Ministry of Transportation, and Qatar Tourism.

The campaign lasted from one o’clock in the afternoon until five o’clock in the evening, and all participating parties aimed to ensure security and safety conditions, and not to violate the boat and other vessel use permits.
