QATAR Airways (QA), the official airline partner of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Road World Championships, helped residents and visitors in Doha to take part in the cycling action this week as the airline held its 'Spot the Mascot' competition between October 9 and 16.
The competition, in which participants tracked down 'Khaz' the UCI mascot for fun photos and selfies, took in four key locations across the city including the race start line, finish line, Fan Zone and The Pearl-Qatar residents hub. As the global cycling race came to a close so did the online competition and a final winner was chosen from the entries. The lucky local winner was notified and will receive a return ticket to any QA destination of their choice.
Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Commercial Middle East, Africa & Pakistan, Ehab Amin, said:"We would like to congratulate the lucky 'Spot the Mascot' competition winner and thank all the participants who took part. Qatar Airways is proud to support prestigious sporting events such as the UCI Road World Championships and promote Qatar as an international destination for sport."
The competition was another example of QAs' close alignment to sport, given the high profile sponsorships that the airline enjoys. From the recent UCI Road World Championships, through to the airline's high profile sponsorship of FC Barcelona and Al Ahli FC, QA continues to align with a variety of sporting partnerships around the world as it reflects the sentiment of ambition and team spirit at the core of the airline itself.
The championship provided competitors and spectators with an unforgettable experience set in stunning Gulf surroundings and showcased Doha to the 1,000 competitive racers from 75 countries, more than 5,700 participants and over 30,000 fans.
