The cost of living in Qatar based on the consumer price index (CPI) in September saw a slight increase from that in the previous month.
According to the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA), Qatar’s CPI — a key inflation indicator — edged up 0.03 percent to 99.06 points in September when compared with that of August. This is 2.71 percent higher than the index figure a year ago.
The report attributed the month-on-month rise in CPI to increased prices in five main groups — clothing and footwear by 2.8 percent, food and beverages by 1.78 percent, furniture and household equipment by 0.03 percent, and education and miscellaneous goods and services by 0.01 percent each.
