The Agricultural Affairs Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) inspected 5,835 consignments of vegetables and other shipments that arrived at the various Customs outlets in Qatar in October. Of these, 24 consignments containing 23.5 tonnes of produce were found to be infested with pests or of substandard quality, and were destroyed. (TNN)
