The Qatar International Dates Exhibition, organised by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in cooperation with the Souq Waqif Department, has continued to attract visitors who come to buy local and international dates and products of various kinds.
On the first day on Wednesday, the exhibition recorded the sale of about 17,052 kilogrammes of dates within four hours, from 5 to 9 pm, while it attracted about 3,000 visitors including citizens, residents and tourists.
The international exhibition will continue to be open to the public on Friday from 1pm to 10pm, Saturday from 9am to 10pm and from Sunday 9am to 9 pm.
About 150 local and international exhibitors are participating in the exhibition, which will continue
until May 4.
It is worth mentioning that the management of Souq Waqif under the supervision of Mohammed al Salem, director of the market, provided all facilities for participants and visitors to make the exhibition a success with the aim to introduce local dates to the public and provide all local and international items needed by the public prior to the Holy Month of Ramadan.Over 17,000 kgs sold on the first day
