The faculty members of DPS-MIS got a wonderful opportunity to attend an awareness programme on the best teaching practices recently.
Professor Sanjeev P Sahni, principal director at Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS), governing body member and advisor to the vice-chancellor O P Jindal Global University, shared his extensive and vast experience in the field of education and administration.
He also focused on the paradigm shift in our education system and the worldwide best teaching practices.
He emphasised on the importance of parents-teachers involvement.
Dr Mohita Junnarkar, assistant professor Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences, spoke about equipping teachers with effective and innovative teaching methodologies and to empower them with techniques and tools to enhance and encourage active involvement of the teachers and students in the learning processes.
She also stressed on the importance of encompassing the opportunities to cultivate a personalised path for academic achievement for students while maintaining a sense of support and community.
"School education lays the basic foundation of learning in children. If supported by right teaching practices it plays a pivotal role in instilling a spirit of enquiry and pursuit for knowledge in them,” said Dr Sahni.
In order to understand the effectiveness of the programme, a questionnaire was given to all the teachers to fill after the workshop.
‘This was a great learning experience and a wonderful initiative by JIBS,” said one of the participants.
Sini Menon, headmistress of primary school and Mary Cruz, headmistress of Senior Wing, presented a memento to Professor Sahni and Dr Junnarkar as a token of appreciation.
Beena Mohan proposed the vote of thanks.
