Qatar’s residents are making the most of the good weather by spending time outdoors, particularly at two of the main heritage destinations in the country, Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakra.
Both venues are bustling with activities with their rich offerings of attractions catering to families and diverse interests during the ongoing Spring Festival.
At Souq Waqif, aside from colourful live performances and rides for children, the venue also attracts art enthusiasts with its live painting sessions hosted by Waqif Art Center.
"It is nice to celebrate the thriving art scene in Qatar with such activity. It also, in a way, inspires young people to pursue their interests in painting and drawing as they see these talented people bring their creative ideas to life on canvas. We hope to have more of this kind of events and activities across the country,” Samuel, a resident commented.
Another resident, Maryam, also praised the diversity of activities featured this year for the festival. She said, "Souq Waqif is the favourite destination of our family. We enjoy the diversity of restaurants, including the new food stalls. We also always look forward to the live performances during the Spring Festival and the different rides our children can enjoy.”
At Souq Al Wakrah, different children rides are also made available for the entertainment of families. The games and rides are welcome addition to the place which is frequented for its beach theme park and array of restaurants along the seaside.
"This place is an ideal getaway for families, especially during weekends. We appreciate the activities that are made available during the festival,” a resident commented.
