The International School of London (ISL) Qatar’s entire community recently came together to celebrate Qatar National Day.
The spectacular event was organised by Ahmed El Hadidi and began with diverse Qatari cultural activities including a large majlis to welcome the community, a museum of Qatari artifacts, a wide variety of typical Qatari national dishes to enjoy and a display of a camel and Qatari falcons.
The entire school was led by students Abdulla al Dahneem and Sheikha Al Kubaisi with a reading from the Quran, songs, a poem about Qatar, as well as music and a traditional sword dance.
The school also dedicated a special section of the event to support national products, such as Baladna, Al Baladi Supermarket and Agrico for providing fresh vegetables.
The finale included a fashion show by the staff - all demonstrating their love for Qatar by wearing traditional Qatari clothing. The ceremony was admired by parents and attendees.
"This year, we welcomed a larger crowd who joined us in the celebration. We are grateful to our students, parents and the ISL Qatar community for being a part of the school’s National Day celebration. We’d also like to thank Qatar Museum Authority for providing us with beautiful art and handicrafts,” said El Hadidi.
