The 93rd Academy Awards have come to a close. Not only was the night a celebration of the best films from the last year, the ceremony has gone to prove that red carpet events can be held in a safe and socially distanced way amid the Covid-19 pandemic.Different to shows of the past, the ceremony was held months behind schedule; this year there was a significantly smaller red carpet, missing international stars and a socially distanced ceremony, as well as satellite screenings in both London and Paris. That didn't take away from the glitter of the event - literally, as gold was the go-to colour on the red carpet, and figuratively, as major names including Brad Pitt, Regina King and Reese Witherspoon all turned out for the event. For the first time since 2002, the ceremony was not held in its entirety at the Dolby Theatre. Instead, this year, the stars flocked to Los Angeles's Union Station.Who won what at the 93rd Academy Awards: Best PictureWINNER: NomadlandThe FatherMankMinariPromising Young WomanThe Trial of the Chicago 7Sound of MetalJudas and the Black MessiahBest DirectorWINNER: Chloe Zhao, NomadlandEmerald Fennell, Promising Young WomanDavid Fincher, MankLee Isaac Chung, MinariThomas Vinterberg, Another RoundBest ActressWINNER: Frances McDormand, NomadlandViola Davis, Ma Rainey's Black BottomAndra Day, The United States vs. Billie HolidayVanessa Kirby, Pieces of a WomanCarey Mulligan, Promising Young WomanBest ActorWINNER: Anthony Hopkins, The FatherRiz Ahmed, The Sound of MetalChadwick Boseman, Ma Rainey's Black BottomGary Oldman, MankSteven Yeun, MinariBest Supporting ActressWINNER: Youn Yuh-jung, MinariGlenn Close, Hillbilly ElegyOlivia Colman, The FatherAmanda Seyfried, MankMaria Bakalova, Borat Subsequent MoviefilmBest Supporting ActorWINNER: Daniel Kaluuya, Judas and the Black MessiahSacha Baron Cohen, The Trial of the Chicago 7Leslie Odom Jr, One Night in MiamiPaul Raci, Sound of MetalLaKeith Stanfield, Judas and the Black MessiahBest Adapted ScreenplayWINNER: The FatherBorat Subsequent MoviefilmNomadlandOne Night in Miami ...The White TigerBest Original ScreenplayWINNER: Promising Young WomanMinariSound of MetalThe Trial of the Chicago 7Judas and the Black MessiahBest Animated FeatureWINNER: SoulOnwardOver the MoonA Shaun the Sheep Movie: FarmageddonWolfwalkersInternational Feature FilmWINNER: Another Round (Denmark)Better Days (Hong Kong)Collective (Romania)The Man Who Sold His Skin (Tunisia)Quo Vadis, Aida?
