Tribune News NetworkDohaThe Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has directed all mosques in the country to close within 15 minutes after the start of each prayer as part of the preventive measures against coronavirus.It has called for reducing the waiting time after the call to prayer to 5 minutes and highlighted the importance of ensuring proper ventilation (by opening windows) during the prayers. The ministry has also urged people with flu-like symptoms such as coughing and runny nose to avoid going to the mosques.
