Telangana Praja Samithi, Qatar affiliated to Indian Cultural Centre celebrated famed cultural festival Bathukamma, Dasara and Bakrid 2017 with traditional pomp and splendour.Bathukammais a festival from Telangana south India, and is celebrated across the world by NRIs hailing from the region.
Distinguished guests included Chief Guest for the evening, Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE P Kumaran, guest of honour, ICC President Milan Arun, Indian Sport Center ChairmanPrasad Rao Koduri, ICBF General Secretary Azeem Abbas, Mahesh Gowda, Subramaniam Hebbegalu and Satish Rao.
Kumaran and Arun pplauded the TPS team for their outstanding cultural and social work initiatives and engagements. They promised to extend support to the new executive committee in its endeavours.
TPS President Sridhar A said that his team will continue the socio-welfare activities on a much bigger scale in the coming years to provide a cultural and social platform for expatriates from the Telangana living in Qatar, especially the blue-collar workers.
Later, the guests witnessed, a spectacular treat of flowers specially flown from India for this occasion.
The evening also saw scintillating folk, classical, modern dances and songs from its members, including children.
