THE Medical Commission of Mowasalat (Karwa), under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health and in collaboration with the mobile blood donation unit of Hamad Medical Corporation, recently held a blood donation campaign on the company premises.
Mowasalat's new Medical Center, which was inaugurated on May 17, 2016, and equipped with latest devices and operated by competent medical staff, participated in the events to mark the World Blood Donor Day on August 2.
A total of 66 blood units were donated by Mowasalat's administrative staff and employees. This is among the highest achieved records and was conducted within five hours (between 4pm and 9pm), earning Mowasalat a certificate of appreciation from HMC.
The initiative came under the directives of Mowasalat Managing Director Khaled Nasser al Hail and supervision of Director of Mowasalat Medical Center Dr Emad Bahloul.
Mowasalat Medical Commission is equipped with a registration section, general practitioner clinic, ENT clinic, dental clinic, laboratory section, radiology section and Occupational Health Clinic, mainly for pre-employment medical and physical checkup, and annual medical checkup.
Mowasalat also equipped the Medical Center with a complete and integrated building with additional facilities like consultation rooms, emergency room, isolation unit, well-equipped pharmacy and first aid units.
The building and all its facilities are as per the international medical and health standards.
The Medical Center serves about 7,000 Mowasalat employees as well as the employees of other companies for pre-employment and annual medical checkup, operating from 7am to 9pm, in two shifts with capacity to serve 150 patients per day. The Medical Commission currently can accommodate 450 screening tests per day.
