QATAR University College of Education (QU-CED) recently held an orientation session aimed to raise community awareness on the Arab Researcher ID (ARID) platform that offers a new focus for research on the challenges of meeting global demands for Arabic speaking researchers in a sustainable way.
The session was chaired by ARID Founder and CEO Dr Saif al Swaidi and radiation expert in Qatar's National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons (NCPW) and member of ARID Consultation Committee Dr Salwanal Ani, as well as QU faculty and students.
Commenting on the event, CED Dean Dr Ahmed al Emadi said:"Promoting the culture of research among Arabic-speaking researchers in CED and beyond is part of our mission. This event aligns with our ongoing efforts to build strong relationships with research institutions and to encourage QU and CED faculty to publish research projects in Arabic language and to enrich our Arabic language research portfolio."
Dr Swaidi said:"The ARID platform aims to gather Arabic-speaking researchers by assigning for each researcher an ID number after free registration. ARID is an open, non-profit, community-based platform that has been created by a number of researchers to excel and support scientific research for Arabic-speaking researchers by creating a registry of persistent identifiers for individual researchers, and a community that links researchers to discuss and work simultaneously on their research objects such as publications, grants and patents."
