The Torch Doha and the Embassy of Belgium in Qatar organised Belgian Chocolate Festival. Several of the many Belgian chocolate brands available in the Qatari market were represented at the opening event.
The event was launched by Belgian Ambassador to Qatar HE Christophe Payot and The Torch Doha General Manager Sherif Sabry.
Belgian celebrity chocolatier Laurent Gerbaud, one of the best chocolate makers in Brussels, participated in the festival. He also supervised workshops held within the 4-day event, which gave participants the opportunity to make their own chocolate and learn how to differentiate taste and appreciate different varieties.
"Such an event has been requested by many in Doha. I am therefore pleased that we could launch such a festival to celebrate Belgian chocolate by giving an opportunity to the chocolate-lovers in Qatar to learn," said Payot.
