SHAMBALLA Jewellery created a special bracelet made of pink argyle diamond dotted with precious blue argyle diamonds especially for Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2017, which concluded at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre on Saturday.
"I created this wonderful piece by setting the blue argyle diamonds in the form of a classical Shamballa bracelet. Pink argyle stones are set with blue aquamarine in a pristine way to give it a royal look," Mads Christian Hellegaard, the founder of Shamballa Jewellery, told Qatar Tribune.
Priced at QR3.4 million this argyle bracelet was created a few months before the exhibition. Shamballa Jewellery draws its inspiration from Yoga and meditation, Hellegaard said.
While Argyle Mine, located in a remote part of Western Australia, is home to the pink diamonds, blue diamonds are also mined there once in a while. Argyle Mine is owned by Rio Tinto.
"Our range of jewellery includes bracelets, necklaces, earrings, cufflinks, rings and beads which are all inspired by the ancient practice of meditation associated with peace and tranquility. Be it the culture of this place or Buddhists or Christians, beads are part of every society and are used to calm our minds," Hellegaard said.
He continued,"So, basically all our collections are designed in a way that has a soothing impact on us. They serve as constant reminders of the importance of peace of mind in our daily life. I design my jewellery keeping myself as a reference point, which might appear strange to many but, it's true," he said.
According to Hellegaard, there is a marked shift in the jewellery market with more men getting fascinated by pieces of jewellery.
"Our bracelet collection made of precious stones such as sapphires, diamonds and emeralds is equally popular among men and women. Many of the bracelets are reversible and can be worn from both sides. For example, one can have a black gold on one side and rose gold on the other," he said.
