Innovative concepts launched at St Regis

While regularity lends stability, it can also lead to monotony, especially when it relates to entertainment or dining. People need variety, and bringing in new, edgy and exotic ideas keeps interests alive. St Regis Doha recently launched four new concepts at the hotel to cater to Doha residents who are always looking for something innovative. Qatar Tribune's Dipti Nair spoke to St Regis's Food and Beverage Manager Ahmed Abdel Ghany about these concepts. Excerpts:

What are these new concepts that St Regis has launched?
These concepts were launched during the last quarter of 2016. The first is The Club, which showcases world-class live music and artists in an intimate dinner show offering. Music lovers can listen to the energetic live band and singers who will cover diverse music genres from Soul and Blues to Bossa Nova, while savouring a variety of international food in a buzzing and cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Meanwhile, nightlife venue, The Rooftop, in a very exciting partnership with Caf` Mambo Ibiza, will be bringing one international DJ every month to the venue.
We have also revamped the Oyster Bay Live, which will now offer a large variety of music by the beach. This new music offering will be complete with Caribbean inspired snacks and hand-crafted beverages from sunset until late.
Our fourth and final concept is The Raw Bar, an intimate dining setting for only 12, which features an exquisite raw menu of sushi, sashimi and seafood including oysters and caviar, as we continue to place emphasis on fresh and raw food.

Entertainment and live music have been given a lot of importance in these new concepts. What is the idea behind it?
St Regis Doha has always placed emphasis on entertainment and live music. Our commitment has been to continue to diversify Doha's music scene, and we believe that we have done so particularly with The Club, The Rooftop and Oyster Bay Live. We understand that our guests are keen to listen to world-class live music, engage in lively performances and eat delicious food, and all of these aspects work together to create an electrifying atmosphere every single time across our venues.

How has the response been since the new concepts were brought into effect?
We have had an overwhelmingly positive response since the debut of all of our new concepts, especially with regard to The Club, as this remains an important pillar in our strategy for growth as a diversified music offering in Doha. Each of these exciting and fresh concepts ensures that we provide a greater choice to our guests when it comes to dining and entertainment, all in the one hotel.

What kind of guests do you get at each of these venues?
Our guests have the same thing in common they want to have a unique experience which includes amazing, mouth-watering dishes that cover a range of international palates, world class entertainment and performances, plus a lively and energetic atmosphere. These are the kinds of guests that St Regis attracts across all 12 of our restaurants and lounges.

What more can guests expect from St Regis in the coming months?
We have a very exciting campaign that we have just launched that is centred on the collection of a set of five cards that guests can receive by either dining or engaging in an activity at St Regis, Doha. These unique collectible cards will not only be a memorable keepsake for guests but are also a welcome opportunity to try the many experiences of the hotel. The grand prize will be an all-inclusive two-night stay for two at the St Regis Doha Presidential Suite, which was recently awarded Qatar's Leading Hotel Suite by the World Travel Awards 2016. Lucky winners will also experience a romantic dinner in a private cabana, complete with a 90-minute spa treatment for two at the Rem'e8de Spa. The competition runs till February 28.
