THE Ramadan Souq - 'The Souq' - will return this year at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) between June 11 and 24.
The souq will include stalls extending over Halls 1 and 2 of DECC, showcasing goods from over 250 local and international companies, offering fashion items and household goods, in addition to antiques and carpets. It will be open daily from 11am to 3pm and from 8pm to 1am, except on Fridays when it will open from 8pm to 1am.
Religious and cultural events will be held daily in collaboration with Qatar Charity and Qatar Heritage and Identity Center between 9.30pm and 11.30pm, featuring scholars from Qatar and the GCC, presented by Dr Abdulrahman al Harami.
The souq will cater to children of all ages with a gaming area, including activities such as karting and mini-football, which will be open daily from 2pm to 2am in Hall 3 of DECC.
Football enthusiasts will be able to watch the UEFA Euro 2016 matches live at the Ramadan Souq Food Court, which will be offering light snacks.
The souq is supported by Qatar Tourism Authority and will be delivered by Maraya Public Relations. The exhibition aims to support members of the local community as well as share Qatar's Ramadan customs with visitors and residents by bringing together the country's unique traditions, cultural roots and charitable character.
