Qatar will have been disappointed not to hold on to their lead in the first game against Iran, but are determined to do better against Yemen on Monday in their second group Group C match.
"We will try to be a competitive team," said coach Oscar Moreno.
"This type of tournament, nobody can be overconfident. We consider Japan as well as Korea Republic to be favourites for this competition but first we have to face Yemen."
Yemen coach Mohammed Al Nufiay has a job on his hands as he attempts to lift his players after a resounding defeat to Japan.
"I will do my best to motivate my players ahead of this next game," he said.
"Don't forget my team are a great team, there are not many teams that are better. In the last friendly match before the tournament, we beat France.
"We will try and change things up for this second game. The problem for the first game was the lack of preparation time and training but we'll be ready to win the match tomorrow."
Meanwhile, Iran coach Amir Peiravani is expecting his players to give an improved showing as they take on Group C leaders Japan in the second match of their AFC U-19 Championship Bahrain 2016 campaign.
The West Asians came from behind to draw 1-1 with Qatar in their opening match, as defender Abolfazl Razzaghpour scored at both ends to leave both teams with a point apiece.
"Japan are one of the best teams in Asia, so I have been discussing with my coaches about their observations," said Peiravani.
Japan's 3-0 win over Yemen came thanks to goals from Koki Ogawa, Yuto Iwasaki and Teruki Hara as the East Asian team found their feet in the second half of the game.
Despite the victory, coach Atsushi Uchiyama is not resting on his laurels ahead of the Iran game.
