During the visit, the president was briefed on NMoQ’s important exhibits and heard a detailed explanation of the museum’s precious items from Deputy CEO of Museums and Director of National Museum of Qatar Sheikha Amna bint Abdulaziz Al Thani.
He also toured the galleries that introduce the lives of the people of Qatar on land and coasts, and the traditional architecture of Qatar.
The president was also briefed on the most important holdings related to pearls and jewellery design, in addition to the galleries of modern Qatari history.
Sheikha Amna presented a memorial book about the museum to the president, who in turn presented a luxurious publication of a document representing the oldest piece of literature written in the Maltese language dating back to the Middle Ages.
President Vella signed the NMoQ honourary record, expressing his admiration for this cultural edifice, its architectural design and the treasures it contains.
