A high-level delegation headed by Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Qatar Evyenia Sidereas and Chairman and CEO of Honeywell Darius Adamczyk visited Aspire Zone Foundation recently.
Honeywell is a key supplier of building management and access control systems for all FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums.
The delegation was accompanied by Abdulla Nasser Al Naemi, director-general of Aspire Logistics at Aspire Zone Foundation.
The delegation began its visit with a tour of the Sports Accelerator, including the Aspire Command and Control Centre for sports facilities.
Engineer Hamad Ahmed Al Mohannadi, director of the Command Centre, said: “The centre aims to raise the level of operational efficiency for Qatar 2022 World Cup stadiums. The centre monitors and controls all systems, safety of facilities, communications and information technology systems, with teams present around the clock to ensure the health and safety of facilities.”
For his part, Naemi said, “The visit of Mr. Darius Adamczyk and Mrs. Evyenia Sidereas is a great honour for the organisation and an opportunity for them to see the application of the latest technologies for our sports centres first-hand, including our use of innovative software to enable remote, centralised control across our facilities. These technologies are playing a pivotal role in ensuring the readiness of the stadiums to host the World Cup and all future sporting events.”
During the visit, Adamczyk expressed his admiration of the facilities and pride in Honeywell’s role as a key technology provider to Qatar’s sports infrastructure.
