Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker has received the ‘2022 Joseph Murphy Award’ by Air Transport World (ATW), a leading online and print trade publication covering the global aviation industry.
He received the award at the ATW’s 48th Annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards ceremony, which was held at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort and Convention Hotel.
The esteemed award recognises Baker’s global influence and visionary approach towards the aviation industry, demonstrating strategic thinking and innovative direction in shepherding the growth of Qatar Airways’ business and the wider aviation industry.
The phenomenal success of Qatar Airways can be attributed to his strategic management and leadership. He has been long known as an industry pioneer, contributing to the sustainable growth of Qatar and leaving an impact within the country and beyond.
Speaking on the award, Baker said, “I am truly honoured to receive the ‘2022 Joseph Murphy Award’ by Air Transport World.
