Minister of Labour HE Dr Ali bin Samikh Al Marri met with Minister of Labour of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Nayef Zakaria Nayef Istitiyeh in Doha on Tuesday.
As part of the continuous follow-up to the agreement signed between the two countries in labour recruitment and the memorandum of understanding for technical cooperation between the two sides, the meeting was convened to discuss aspects of cooperation in labour-related issues and the ways to support and develop them.
During the meeting, the two ministers expressed their pride in the level of relations between Qatar and Jordan, and the confraternity between their two peoples, reflected in the wisdom of the leaderships of the two countries, the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and King of Jordan HM Abdullah II bin Al Hussein.
The two ministers discussed the ways to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences in the field occupational standards and labour inspection within establishments and enhancing occupational health and safety tools to reach an exemplary work environment, in addition to exchanging expertise in the field of labour disputes and the ways to resolve them.
They stressed the necessity of pooling the experiences between the two countries in developing mechanisms for regulating the labour market, benefiting from technological development and providing skilled and trained labour in various fields from the young generations and both
genders.
