On her part, Eman Al-Sulaiti pointed out the importance of the trip, which comes in the context of connecting the academic and practical aspects, adding that the trip helps students develop their skills, expand their knowledge in the field of the specialisation, and learn about successful practices of international institutions.
HE Dr Abdulaziz Al-Hor, director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), highly valued the trip and the participation of students of the Executive Master’s in Diplomatic Studies and International Cooperation who are diplomats and employees in MoFA. He stressed the importance of the educational trips, which open a window for the programme’s affiliate to view and learn about best practices and global experiences and provides the opportunity for direct meetings with decision-makers in major international institutions.
On the first day of the trip, the students visited the headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva and learned about its history and origin, the memorials scattered around it, the services available in it, and the most prominent diplomatic activities that the headquarters witnessed over the past decades. At the conclusion of the visit, students attended a lecture on ‘The United Nations Headquarters in Geneva: A Center for Multilateral Diplomacy’.
