The Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA) and the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (ROLACC) signed a memorandum of understanding at Lusail University on Sunday.
The agreement was signed by Chairman of ACTA Hamad bin Nasser Al Misnad and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ROLACC HE Dr Ali bin Fetais al Marri.
The MoU will explore opportunities for joint cooperation in various fields of mutual interests, including training and development.
The MoU’s primary objectives involve mutually joint cooperation between the two parties concerning transparency and integrity issues in the areas of training and development by exchanging knowledge about international standards and relevant best practices and benefitting from joint experiences in strengthening the integrity and transparency system.
Dr Marri said that ROLACC was designed to provide support to all parties battling corruption, and it seeks to create a framework to enable the permanent exchange of experience and expertise through strategic partnerships with the relevant bodies of the United Nations. Therefore, the centre is working to provide all its expertise to all state institutions, including the ACTA, to enhance cooperation in the field of training courses.
He added, “The centre is proud to cooperate with the ACTA and will spare no effort in providing all its experiences and capabilities to serve the interest of Qatar.”
On his part, Misnad highlighted the strong relationship between the Authority and ROLACC, as the two parties seek to enhance cooperation in several areas.
He said, “This MoU aims to strengthen the relationship of cooperation between the two sides and to benefit from the capabilities of the two parties in their field of work, especially with regard to activating the United Nations Convention against Corruption, as well as raising the efficiency of staff in the specialised body in this field.”
ROLACC was founded on the desire to construct and develop specialised knowledge and skills for use by individual practitioners and institutions, which would lead to the strengthening of the rule of law and fight against corruption in line with international standards and national needs.
