Starting from June 13, Hamad International Airport (HIA) will start testing the concept of limiting the access to the departures and arrivals curbsides to authorised vehicles only, and diverting all general public vehicles to use the available car park facilities for passenger pick-up and drop-off.
In a statement, the HIA said, “This is being done in the interest of customer experience, safety and security. The trials will begin on June 13 at 10 am.”
“During the trial, and for the convenience of our customers, Hamad International Airport shall offer grace period of twenty minutes, without charge to ease passenger drop off and pick-up within the Short-Term Car Park,” it added.
Payment for short-term car parking must be made at the machines located before the car park, on level 2. There are no payment options available at the exit of the car park.
“In order to avoid delays or inconvenience, kindly pay at the building before exiting towards the parking,” HIA said.
Hamad International Airport offers a wide variety of transport options that seamlessly connect between the airport and the city. The bus pavilion, taxi pavilion, metro station, car parking, car rental and limousine services are all conveniently located within walking distance from the airport’s arrivals and departures hall. As always, HIA staff will be available to assist our passengers round the clock.
