Qatar will attend the 75th session of the World Health Assembly, which will be held in Geneva from May 22 to 28.
The delegation of Qatar to the meetings is chaired by Minister of Public Health HE Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari.
The Assembly is holding its first in-person meeting since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the slogan ‘Health for Peace, Peace for Health’.
The World Health Assembly is the highest decision-making body in the World Health Organization, and its meeting is attended by delegations from 194 Member States of the World Health Organization and focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by the Executive Board.
HE Dr. Hanan Al Kuwari and the delegation of the State of Qatar will participate in the main sessions of the World Health Assembly meeting and contribute to decision-making on health goals and strategies that will guide countries’ work in the field of public health, as well as the WHO Secretariat to push the world towards better health and well-being for all.
The Minister of Public Health and the Qatari delegation will also participate in the WHO event “Walk the Talk: Health For All Challenge” in Geneva on Sunday, before the opening session of the World Health Assembly, joining thousands of people from the local community in a 3 km and 4.2 km distance walk as the initiative aims to encourage people to be physically and mentally active to support their health.
