CBF insurance applications collected by various units of Qatar Indian Social Forum, were handed over to Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) President Vinod Nair on Tuesday 17th May 2022 at the Integrated Indian Cultural Centre (IICC) at an event held under the leadership of Forum president Ayyub Ullal.
Welcoming the gathering, Forum general secretary Mohammed Usman said that the Forum has been campaigning to get maximum number of Indian community members enrolled and will continue to support this initiative. Forum vice president Salam Kunnamal briefed the gathering about the ICBF Beema Life Insurance Scheme. He said that it has been crafted exclusively for Indian nationals having a valid Qatar resident permit. It provides a coverage of QR100,000 for a low premium of just QR125 for a two year term. The scheme also covers permanent or partial disability up to the maximum covered amount depending on the severity of the disability.
On the occasion the Forum felicitated Dr Fathima Raeesa on being awarded the “Prapulla S Hegde Memorial Endowment” Gold Medal for her outstanding performance as “Best Post Graduate Student in MD Radiodiagnosis, from KMC Mangalore, for the year 2021” by Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
ICBF president Vinod Nair thanked the Forum for its unwavering support to the insurance project and congratulated Dr. Fathima Raeesa for her achievement.
ICC Vice president Subramanya Hebbagelu, handed over a momento to Dr Fathima on behalf of the Forum as a token of appreciation. Congratulated her Dr. Fathima for her achievement he urged her to pursue her knowledge as a tool to serve the local community.
Presiding over the function, Ayyub Ullal, congratulated her on behalf of the entire Indian community in Qatar for being such a truly inspirational and outstanding icon for all the students, perusing their dreams in medical studies, in the state of Qatar and all over India.
Sophia Bukhari from Qatar University, Dr Syed Jaffery, President, Alumni AMU, and representatives from Karnataka associations like KMCA, SKMWA, Highland Islamic Forum, Hidaya Foundation, and Family Friend Circle were present at the event.
A health awareness session on “sleep disorders” was presented by Dr Safwan Ahmad, Consultant Neurologist and Associate Professor of Neurology, Father Muller Medical College & Hospital, Mangalore who happens to be Dr Raeesa’s husband. Other members of Dr Raeesa’s family, including parents Mumtaz Hussain and Ishrath Jahan Khan, sister Khadija Roohi, and brother Rehaan Hussain were also present. Usama Ahammed, Secretary, of Social forum, proposed the Vote of thanks.
