The Police Institute announced the launch of the Police Science Diploma programme, which will be available to high school graduates beginning next July for a two-year period with a total of 60 credit hours, as part of the Ministry of Interior’s desire to develop cadres that contribute to security stability and performance excellence.
In relation to this diploma, Lieutenant-Colonel Ali Saud Al-Hanzab, Director of the Police Institute, said at a press conference at the institute’s headquarters that the Police Science Diploma is a unique scientific programme that meets the standards, conditions, and quality of academic programs as well as the requirements of Qatar’s national qualifications framework. He explained that the programme is aimed at two groups: Qatari military personnel working in the Ministry of Interior who have a high school diploma and Qatari high school graduates who meet the conditions set by the Ministry of Interior’s competent committee.
He said that the diploma will serve as a qualified bridge for those wishing to obtain a bachelor’s degree in law and police sciences through the specific mechanisms, and that this diploma programme is a response to the ministry of Interior developing its education and training system and achieving its strategy and objectives in the development of the human element.
According to Saeed Jassim Al-Sayed, Acting Director of Higher Education Institutions Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, this step represents a breakthrough toward a new stage of development and modernization pursued by the Police Institute, the cradle of the Qatari military since its inception. He went on to say that the graduates will be equipped with the light of science and knowledge, and will be able to face the challenges and changes of this age.
Al Sayed emphasised that the Police Institute has always been committed to preparing qualified security cadres to carry out their social responsibilities by offering numerous distinguished education and training programmes.
