The Policy and Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Strategic Education International in the US, on Thursday organised the inaugural meeting of the “Pearl Dialogue for the Global Future.”
In her opening speech, Assistant Foreign Minister HE Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater said the dialogue aims to achieve a deeper understanding of the critical issues that Qatar and the US face in times of global challenges and to enhance cooperation in more areas.
She stressed that such discussions would help Qatar, as a major non-NATO ally of the US, to serve the global community more effectively in this field. She added that as they meet, a new war and global geopolitical competition are intensifying, and at the same time, the world is emerging from a pandemic, and everyone is trying to get the economies back into thriving businesses again. Al Khater pointed out that such events and challenges highlight the fundamental need to solve problems, exchange ideas, and dialogue. She stressed that Qatar supports dialogue and debate to reach a more equitable global order. (TNN)
