As the much-awaited FIFA World Cup 2022 is set to kick off in November this year, Hospitality Qatar 2022 will be opening the gates to the global tourism and hospitality sector to provide them with a platform to explore numerous opportunities and business prospects ahead of the international sporting event. Organizer IFP Qatar announced that it is poised to hold the seventh edition of Hospitality Qatar from June 21 -23, 2022 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Hospitality Qatar remains the country’s most exclusive and longest-running international hospitality, restaurant, and café (HORECA) trade show which has provided local, regional, and international hospitality and tourism companies great opportunities to gain extensive brand exposure, direct engagement, and new quality leads.
Qatar has placed tourism at the centre of its growth path and has been investing heavily in ensuring the sector can attract new investments and trade opportunities. Based on the country’s National Vision 2030, it targets to attract more than six million tourist arrivals by 2030 and increase the sector’s contribution to the GDP by 12 per cent by the same year.
In this regard, Hospitality Qatar aims at supporting the growth of the sector and providing an ideal environment to achieve these goals. The event will provide a venue for stakeholders to explore collaboration, engagement, and establish connections with top-level decisionmakers.
Haidar Mshaimesh, General Manager, IFP Qatar, said: “We are delighted to announce that Hospitality Qatar is in the midst of preparations to welcome local, regional, and international organizations for another high-performing event this year. It is an exciting time for Qatar with the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 taking place later this year, sending strong optimism across the tourism and hospitality industry in the country. Having come out of a challenging year, we are much better positioned to cater to the needs of the sector in their efforts to better understand the markets.”
Mshaimesh remarked: “As we move ahead towards a new era in travel and tourism, we are confident that the coming event will provide the ideal platform for all exhibitors, whether they are producers, suppliers, or industry professionals. We are keen to make sure businesses make the most of this time to reach their target markets and deliver the key benefits and support to the sector in terms of facilities, interior design and decoration, leisure and entertainment, travel and tours, and so much more.”
The premier exhibition will continue to feature simultaneous pioneering activities such as the Hospitality Qatar Conference, a three-day multi-themed conference being organized in partnership with Qatar Tourism. The Hospitality Qatar Certified Training Program will also provide hospitality and tourism professionals with the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills during the three-day event.
For companies seeking to expand their reach in the Qatari market, the B2B Matchmaking and Hosted Buyers Program will facilitate the business networking of participants and exhibitors and enable them to secure agreements on the spot.
The Hospitality Qatar exhibition welcomes all business entities keen to offer their products and services in the following segments: hotel supply and design; hotel franchising and investment; and food and beverage; among others. These businesses can explore the range of activities set to take place in the country this year springing from the FIFA World Cup such as staycations, cruise business, exhibitions, food festivals, and other external events.
Industry analysts have noted that Qatar’s hospitality sector is poised to welcome international visitors as more hotel rooms will be completed this year to reach a total of 44,000 rooms, up from the current 30,000 available in the market. The sector is expected to continue to develop various infrastructure with more than 20 hotels, resorts and other modern recreational facilities set to rise until 2024.
