Qatar-based entrepreneur and Lahore Qalandars’ owner Fawad Rana has praised the authentic cuisine and warm hospitality of the new outlet of Shan-e-Lahore Restaurant in Mughalina area.
After the successful operation of Shan-e-Lahore Restaurant (Pride of Lahore) for three years, the second branch of the outlet was inaugurated in the same area last month.
“I would like to congratulate Mohammad Iqbal on opening the new branch and wish him the best of luck. I am thankful to him for inviting me as a special guest and giving me the honour to taste mouth-watering dishes prepared by their celebrated chef from Pakistan. Frankly speaking, I am greatly impressed by the traditional and authentic Lahori taste offered by the restaurant. The warm ambience of the new outlet is awesome,” remarked Rana, who is also managing director of Qatar Lubricants Company.
The restaurant owner, Mohammad Iqbal, said, “I would like to extend my gratitude to Fawad Rana for accepting our invitation to visit our restaurant despite his extremely busy schedule. The positive feedback given by him will serve as a motivation for our team and will help us to further improve our standards.”
He added, “We are trying to offer foodies an exciting range of flavours. I am excited to observe that besides Pakistanis, a large number of Indians love our food. While we offer dishes to suit every palate, our specialty is karahi, biryani, BBQ and a wide-variety of naans. We are available on major food delivery platforms like Talabat, Snoonu, Rafeeq and Wish Box.”
The ambiance of the new outlet has been designed keeping in mind the rich heritage and culture of Lahore. It has an exclusive family sitting area on the first floor. The first branch, inaugurated in 2018 and located in close proximity of the new branch, lacked such facilities due to space constraints.
The restaurant’s chef, Zaheer Ahmed, who hails from Said Nagar in Gujranwala, has worked with Yasir Broast Lahore for 18 years; with Monal Restaurant, Daman-e-Koh for two years; Angeethi Restaurant, Islamabad for two years; and with Shahbaz Tikka, Gujranwala for a long time. He has also worked at Dubai Hayat Palace and Pearl City Suite in the UAE. “I am indebted to the restaurant management for giving me the opportunity to introduce authentic Lahori taste in Qatar,” remarked Ahmed.
Lahore Qalandars is a Pakistani professional cricket franchise which plays in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Rana was the first one to step forward to announce a team when Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially announced the launch of the PSL in 2015.
Rana’s brother and Lahore Qalandars’ CEO Atif Rana runs the affairs of the franchise.
Rana has worked relentlessly to promote cricket in Pakistan by giving a chance to new and young players.
Qalandars’ High Performance Centre (QHPC) nurtures the young generation of athletes into professionally successful sport persons of the future. More than 500,000 athletes have enrolled so far in one of Pakistan’s largest and most well-equipment cricket performance centres.
Rana has great love and attachment with Lahore. He has written, composed and sung the official song, Jiye Jiye Lahore Qalandar, for his team for PSL-3 that went viral. The video song, showing Lahore Qalandars players enjoying while visiting prominent places, received overwhelming response from the team’s fans.
A long-time resident of Qatar, Rana is also a great sports lover and has played a pivotal role in promoting the game of hockey in Qatar.
