A number of officials at the Police College confirmed that the college’s 4th batch of students, whose graduation was celebrated on Thursday, contributes a qualitative addition to the country’s security sector in line with the highest international standards.
Advisor to the Minister of Interior and Vice-President of the Supreme Council of the Police College Major General Dr Abdullah Yousuf Al-Mal said, in a press statement, on the sidelines of the graduation ceremony, that the college has an integrated educational and training system to prepare qualified policemen equipped with distinguished skills and capabilities to achieve all the objectives and tasks of the MoI, especially in the prevention and response to crime.
He added that the college employs all possibilities to graduate cadres who are aware of the modern technical means, and the ways to employ them in the face of crimes.
Director General of the Police College, Brigadier Gen Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti, said the college took a high position among the specialised police colleges in the region, and pursued, during its eight-year history, scientific planning in management, training and academic curricula, and provided its students with an integrated educational environment supported by advanced technologies, and scientific teaching and training.
The Director General of the college praised the support of the national leadership of the college by providing all capabilities, including the training and administrative staff and modern equipment to implement the approved programmes.
Assistant Director-General of the college Lt Col Dr Jabr Hammoud Al-Nuaimi said the college has devoted its efforts to developing and updating the quality training programmes in line with international standards with the aim of strengthening the capabilities of the MoI and continuing the process of contributing to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Lt Col Dr Al-Nuaimi affirmed the college’s keenness to harmonise between the academic theoretical and field practical aspects to ensure that the student obtains the best expertise in the police fields. In this context, he pointed out that the college is also focusing on the latest developments in the world of crime, especially cybercrime.
On the training programmes, Lt. Colonel Fahd Saeed Al Subaie, head of the Training Unit, said the college adopts the best training programmes at the regional and international levels and is working to develop programmes that can ensure high training and enhance outputs from officer candidates to be a support for the security sector.
He stressed that the college believes that professional military and sports training develops skills and enhances the meanings of patience and endurance among students, while instilling the values of discipline, courage, commitment and military connectivity, in addition to developing thinking skills to solve problems in the fastest and safest way and to reach the desired goals.
He pointed out that the number of academic hours allotted for the 4th batch at the Police College amounted to 130 hours for theoretical courses of all kinds, while the number of practical training hours reached 48 hours in the field of crime scenes and 60 other training hours in security departments, in addition to 780 hours of sports training.
