Paris After a fatal skiing accident in the French Alps, experts have performed an autopsy on the body of the 5-year-old who died. The examination took place on Monday morning, the responsible public prosecutor’s office in the town of Bonneville announced. The public prosecutor wanted to initiate preliminary investigations for involuntary manslaughter against the man believed to have caused the accident in the morning.
In the course of the day, the man, who is in his 40s, was to be brought before an investigating judge.
The accident had occurred at the weekend in the ski resort of Flaine. The man had knocked down the girl at high speed on a ski slope there. Despite resuscitation attempts, she died in the helicopter on the way to hospital. The man was taken into police custody. (dpa)
