Beijing China on Monday confirmed the resumption of freight traffic with North Korea following a pandemic-related hiatus, after South Korean media reported that a goods train had crossed the Yalu River.Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said in Beijing that freight traffic between the North Korean city of Sinuiju and the Chinese border city of Dandong had resumed after negotiations with Pyongyang. Both sides were taking precautions against the virus to facilitate normal trade, the spokesman stressed. According to the media reports, the goods train crossed the Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge to Dandong on Sunday. (agencies)
