Istanbul A Turkish court on Monday acquitted German journalist Mesale Tolu of two charges related to terrorism. “After four years, eight months and 20 days: Acquittal on both charges,” Tolu tweeted on Monday after judgement was handed down in Istanbul.Tolu and her husband, Suat Corlu, were not present in court. They had returned to Germany in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Turkish state prosecutors had accused Tolu, Corlu and others of membership of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party (Turkey) and of disseminating terrorist propaganda. The party is banned as a terrorist organization in Turkey. (agencies)
