A car bomb exploded on the outskirts of the Montenegrin capital Podgorica on Monday.
The driver of the car was killed instantly, but other people were not injured. The victim was presumably a member of a drug clan from the coastal town of Kotor, the news portal vijesti.me reported, citing security sources.
The man killed is said to have belonged to the Skaljari clan. Two cartels from Kotor, the one from the Skaljari district and the one from the Kavac district, control a good part of the drug trade from South America to Europe, but are deeply hostile to each other.
For years, the “Skaljarci” and the “Kavcani” have been engaged in a bloody feud that is being fought all over the world.
Murders of their respective rivals have also taken place in Germany, Austria and Greece.
