MoCI shuts company for one month for altering expiry dates of products Jan 14, 2022 0 0 12345 QNADohaThe Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has closed a commercial company in Al-Montazah for a month for wiping out the validity dates of expired products and printing new ones in the place. The company deliberately concealed the dates of expired products and printed new dates on its products, the ministry clarified.The action was taken due to violation of Article No (6) of Law No 8 of 2008 regarding consumer protection.“These inspection campaigns stem from the ministry’s keenness to monitor compliance with the laws and regulations governing the commercial sector and ensure the protection of consumer rights,” the ministry said.
