A two day online investment conference ‘Invest In Sweden’ commenced on Wednesday.
The Embassy of Sweden in Qatar had invited more than 20 Swedish start-up and scale-up companies interested in Qatar for digital presentation of innovative products and services in the sectors of Life Science, Smart Industry and Sustainability.
The companies, representing the top layer of Sweden’s innovative ecosystem, presented their ideas to more than 20 Qatari investors. The presentations were followed by one-on-one meetings between the companies and the investors.
Sweden is one of the leading countries in reaching the UN Sustainable Goals and is ranked as the second most innovative country in the world in this year’s Global Innovation Index.
In his welcome speech on the occasion, the Ambassador of Sweden to Qatar HE Anders Bengtcen, said, “This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation and technical know-how exchange between our two countries.”
He said the interest shown by Swedish and Qatari companies has been impressive making the event a great success.

“With this event we want to give dynamic and expensive Swedish start-up and scale-up companies an opportunity to showcase what they can offer to Qatar,” he said, while stressing the importance of knowledge sharing between Qatar and Sweden.
