Paris France has operated another airlift flight out of Afghanistan, evacuating some 330 people from the troubled country, the Foreign Ministry in Paris said on Friday. The plane took 258 Afghan nationals to Qatar, the ministry reported, saying that the individuals had been at risk due to their activities as journalists or employees of French security forces. Eleven French nationals and around 60 Dutch nationals were also on the flight. An onward flight to France is to be arranged this weekend. French President Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by members of his cabinet, travelled to the United Arab Emirates and then to Qatar on Friday, at the start of a two-day visit to the Gulf region. He is expected to arrive in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. A Foreign Ministry plane was used for the evacuation flight. Since the fall of Afghanistan to the militant Islamist Taliban in late August, France has flown some 400 Afghans and 110 French nationals out of Kabul, the ministry said. (Agencies)
