Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs HE Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah and HE UK Secretary of State for Defence Ben Wallace, attended the inauguration of 11th Squadron . It’s a squadron for joint training on Hawk aircraft. The ceremony took place at the Leeming Air Force Station, which belongs to the Royal Air Force. The squadron is an important element in enhancing the joint operational and coordination capabilities between the Qatari Amiri Air Force and the Royal Air Force. It also helps to increase cooperation in peacekeeping as well as military efforts in the future. The joint squadron, which has the logo of the Qatari Amiri Air Force, will enable Qatari and UK pilots to train together using the latest edition of Hawk T2. The Hawk aircraft uses a state-of-the-art simulation that works and feels like the latest generation of fighter jets. (QNA)
