Leaders in Sport (“Leaders”) and beIN MEDIA GROUP (“beIN”) will next week host Leaders Meet: Qatar 2022, inviting guests from across the global sports industry to Qatar for its inaugural event in the country.
The premium global sports conference, held over 28 and 29 November, will hear from a range of high-profile, influential speakers from across the world of sport, showcasing the transformation of Qatar as a first-class sports destination.
beIN’s flagship sports network beIN SPORTS is the official broadcaster of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in 24 countries across the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) and in France.
The speaker line-up for the event includes Nasser Al Khater, Chief Executive Officer at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022; Yousef Al Obaidly, Group CEO of beIN MEDIA GROUP; Colin Smith, Chief Competitions and Events Officer at FIFA; Chatri Sityodtong, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at ONE Group; former Al Shahania, AC Milan and Manchester City Player, Nigel de Jong; Pierluigi Collina, Chairman of FIFA Referee’s Committee; Alexandra Chalat, Director Community Engagement and World Cup Legacy at the Qatar Foundation; Lolwah Al Marri, President of the Qatar Women’s Sports Committee; and former England national team manager, Roy Hodgson.
Others speaking at the summit include representatives from the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Formula 1, Qatar Motorsport & Motorcycle Federation, Qatar Olympic Committee, Aspire Academy, European Club Association, amongst several others.
The event comes just one week after Qatar, beIN, the sports and entertainment industry, and football fans around the world celebrated the one-year-to-go milestone, counting down to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 M .
Leaders Meet: Qatar 2022 will be opened by Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, setting the scene for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 TM , on Day 1.
On Day 2, beIN MEDIA GROUP’s Group CEO Yousef Al Obaidly will address guests and attendees. All sessions will be live-streamed on beIN and Leaders digital channels, as well as via the Leaders Meet Portal.
beIN’s MENA headquarters, and its state-of-the-art studios, will host the second day of the two-day conference (29 November), that will include sessions offering a preview into the operational elements to broadcast the World Cup to a global audience, lessons learned from hosting the first-ever Grand Prix in Qatar, and an insight into the achievements of women’s sport in Qatar, amongst a number of others.
Guests will also learn more about the global broadcaster’s beINSPIRED initiative that aims to provide a greater platform to under-represented sports and talent, with a particular focus on women’s sport.
