The Indian Sports Centre (ISC) will join hands with three other bodies -- Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), and Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) -- to bring the community together for a major event in honour of the host nation Qatar.
The event, ‘Indian Community Carnival’, will be held on the Ideal Indian School grounds on Friday, November 26, from 5pm to 10pm.
The carnival was announced at a press conference presided over by ISC President Dr Mohan Thomas and attended by leaders of the Indian community in Qatar.
Qatari dignitaries, ambassadors from various countries, officials from the Indian Embassy and citizens from other countries living in Qatar are expected to attend the event, which will be inaugurated by Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE Dr Deepak Mittal, at 7pm.
The carnival will feature vibrant Indian music and dance forms, traditional Indian sports, football shootout, face painting, football jugglers, magic show, laser and fireworks.
This is slated to be be a one-of-a-kind event dedicated to the football world and football fans in Qatar.
The event will demonstrate the support of the Indian diaspora for Qatar as the host country for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022.
Members of the Indian Doctors Club (IDC), United Nurses of India-Qatar (UNIQ), and Federation of Indian Nurses Qatar (FINQ) will be present to enforce the Ministry of Public Health rules and regulations for COVID-19.
There will also be facility to provide antigen testing for children who have not been vaccinated.
The main entrance to the event venue (Ideal Indian School, Abu Hamour) will be through Gate No 6 and families’ entry will be through Gate No 4.
The support agreement was signed and handed over by the primary sponsors of the event Medtech Corporation and Castle Infrastructure.
Dr. M.P. Hassan Kunhi, chairman and CEO of Medtech Corporation; Mibu Jose, CEO of Castle Group; and Syed Shoukath Ali, principal of Ideal Indian School who also spoke at the press conference.
Family Food Centre and Tea Time are two other main sponsors of the event.
