The exciting ‘Westin Doha United Nations of Golf’ will begin on November 26, after a very successful event last year that received more than 165 participants. The event is expected to attract more than 200 golfers representing different countries in the community-led event that sees the Westin Doha Hotel and Spa play host to the players. The team format adds fun and variety to the golf tournament schedule in Qatar and each year they get a bigger following.
The growing golf tourism destination in Qatar is seeing more travellers visiting Doha, and these continual local initiatives and hosted events help engage regional recreational golfers interested in visiting and competing in golf tournaments in Qatar.
Mario DiPietro, director of Operations at the Westin, commented, “We are excited to be supporting the United Nations of Golf event in 2021 at Education City Golf Club. This year we want to showcase our hospitality to golfers in Qatar. We look forward to welcoming all golfers to the tournament and look forward to crowning the winning team at the Westin.
General Manager of Education City Golf Club, Michael Braidwood, commented: “The tournament far exceeded our expectations over the past year as we continually see more participants dressing up and taking the event seriously while also balancing the novel concept. At the Golf Club, we aim to encourage active participation of the community through our partnerships and competitions, and we appreciate all of the support from the Westin Doha.”
The final award ceremony will be held at the Westin Doha.
