The sixth edition of Hospitality Qatar, organised by IFP Qatar, is all set to open on Monday. With a keen focus on hotel supply and design, hotel franchising and investment, as well as food and beverages, Hospitality Qatar will see the participation of a number of companies operating in Qatar.
Talking to Qatar Tribune, officials of a number of participating companies said that they are all geared up to showcase their products and services to address the requirements of the key elements that make up Qatar’s rising hospitality industry.
“Hospitality Qatar is not just an exhibition, but rather a full-fledged platform that covers the hotel, restaurants, and cafe (HORECA) market from every angle,” they said.
Boecker Country Manager Carla Ghaleb said, “This is not the first time that we are the hygiene sponsor of Hospitality Qatar. It has been more than 12 years that we have been participating in this event as the hygiene partner. For the past two years, we were not here due to CIVID-19. So we are very happy to be here once again. I am quite sure that it is going to be a very successful event. All the companies participating in this event are eager to show as to what they did in the past two years, what new initiatives and products they have launched.”
“Qatar is showing high interest in safeguarding the health and welfare of exhibitors and visitors. As the hygiene partner of Hospitality Qatar, Boecker will talk about ‘Qatar Clean programme, the great initiative Qatar’s entities took to safeguard people during the COIVID-19 pandemic and also how Boecker designed a programme that can serve this initiative called ‘Covid-Safe’ programme,” she said.
“All of this we are going to talk about as part of our training programme during the exhibition free of cost to all attendees. We are all geared up to showcase our latest services, products and technologies during the event,” she said.
Even during the pandemic, Ghaleb said, most companies in Qatar’s F&B sector tried to find solutions. “They wanted solutions in delivery, virtual kitchen and other ideas just to be able to survive. Now we can see that the government is slowly relaxing the COVID-19 restrictions. Various economic sectors are opening, especially with the 2022 Fifa World Cup just a year away. We can see that country’s F&B sector is gearing up to serve the visitors. They are preparing well to make the mega event a big success,” she said.
Bespoke Gifts, Awards & Accessories Division Manager Harout Bedoyan said, “Hospitality sector means a lot for us. As a local company, we produce cutting-edge leather-made items. When it comes to techniques, modern technologies and eco-friendly materials and pre-opening hotels, many clients use our products, what we are showcasing here.”

“We have manufacturing units here in Qatar. We have over 400 people working for us here in Doha. This year is our 20th year anniversary. From Qatar, we are also exporting to other countries as well. From here we export to UAE. Some pre-opening hotels we have done in Sri Lanka, India, and the UK. So we export from here,” Bedoyan said.
“The demand for our products in the local market is very high. Qatar requires a lot of hotels in preparation for 2022 Fifa World Cup. Qatar also has 2030 vision that aims a lot of expansion in various economic sectors,” he said.
In the GCC region, Bedoyan said, “Qatar’s market has one of the highest potentials as far as our products are concerned.”
“Tourism sector is slowly, but surely reviving. We have high hopes from Hospitality Qatar,” he said.
Augusta Smargiassi, ITA Commissioner at Doha Office, said that ITA will continue to showcase its project ‘Breakfast Made in Italy’ during this edition of Hospitality Qatar as well.
The ‘Breakfast Made in Italy’ will bring to Qatar a varied and healthy selection of ‘Made in Italy’ products, equipment, and services for preparing the authentic Italian morning breakfast, she said.
“We launched ‘Breakfast Made in Italy’ in the last edition of Hospitality Qatar. We received a huge response from visitors during that time. We are quite hopeful that we will receive the same kind of response this time as well,” she said.
