The FIBA Regional Office – Asia held a clinic for game officials from October 22 and 25 in Doha, Qatar.
The clinic took place during the Qatar Cup 2021-22 and was attended by 17 participants. The purpose of this clinic was to provide the latest updates related to game officiation while also scouting potential FIBA and National potential referees.
“The clinic met our expectations, and for that we want to thank the FIBA Regional Office – Asia,” said Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) refereeing advisor, Petr Sudek.
“The sessions were interactive, with good and required level of engagement and activity from the participants.”
“The clinic falls in line with the plans of the Regional Office to improve the quality of officiating in the region, which in result will heighten the level of competition. Game Officials are certainly an important part of the game and developing personnel to be able to perform at the highest capacity as one is key to improving Asia basketball.
“This clinic will help improve our referees and table officials as they play a big role in serving our sport,” said Acting head of referees of QBF, Jassim Mohammed Abdullah.
“We got a lot of information supported with selective game clips and on court practical exercises and expert advise,” he said.
