The Primary Health Care Corporation is planning to launch a mobile dental clinic for patients who are unable to access services in the health centre designated for them.
While appointments for regular dental services can be made through PHCC’s 24/7 helpline Hayyak by dialling 107, the corporation said dental emergencies would be attended to immediately without an appointment at any of its dental clinics.
Patients with life-threatening emergencies or suspected of having oral cancer will be referred to Hamad Medical Corporation for treatment, as is the case for those who need to have artificial teeth installed in place of missing teeth, PHCC said.
In a related context, the corporation said it would continue, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health, its awareness campaign within the framework of the National Oral Health Examination Service for Adults, which focuses on oral health care for individuals over the age of 70.
This service is primarily concerned with the prevention of oral diseases
and the promotion of oral health, and
is part of a group of dental examination programmes being offered by PHCC
dental clinics, including the “Beautiful Smile” programme and the
National School Programme for Oral Health. (TNN)
