Qatar Foundation has announced the appointment of Abeer Al-Khalifa as president of its Pre-University Education division (PUE).
Al-Khalifa joined QF in 2011 and has since held positions at its Pre-University Education division that include executive director of Academic Affairs and, most recently, executive director of the QF Schools Office. She holds an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration from HEC Paris in Qatar.
She succeeds HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, who has been appointed as Minister of Education and Higher Education. In her new position, Al-Khalifa will oversee Qatar Academy schools that follow IB curricula, and a range of specialised schools and programmes including the Academic Bridge Programme (ABP), in addition to The Learning Center (TLC) and the Education Development Institute (EDI) which supports the professional development of educators in Qatar.
