Colombo: Two Iranian nationals who consumed sanitizer liquid died of poisoning inside a high security prison in Sri Lanka on Thursday, an official said.
Ten others have been hospitalized after consuming the same liquid in the prison located in Colombo.
All of the Iranian nationals were being held for offences related to drug trafficking. The sanitizer liquid had been provided as a measure to prevent the spread of Covid-19 among the inmates. (dpa)
